School Board

St. Theresa School had implemented a Board of Specified Jurisdiction and we are happy to announce that we have transitioned to the St. Theresa School Board which is now a permanent advisory board to the Pastor and Principal of St. Theresa School. The purpose of the Board is to advise the Pastor and Principal on matters related to St. Theresa School, with particular emphasis on its Mission.

 

The Board’s mission is to support the school’s efforts to form Christian Scholars for the 21st Century. In performing its responsibilities, the Board's authorities and responsibilities shall include the following:

• Foster and promote a faith-based community;
• Support the ministry of Catholic school education;
• Review the annual budget, including assumptions as to expenses and tuition,

    prepared by the Parish Finance Committee;
• Review major School plans and priorities;
• Recommend to the Pastor the appointment of new Board members;
• Review reports prepared by the principal;
• Focus on areas critical to short and long-term goals;
• Prepare an annual report of the School for the broader St. Theresa Parish and School
    communities.

 

We have created an Executive Committee of the Board comprised of the Pastor, Father Tim,

the President, Marge Anzalone, and the Secretary, Tim Kaiser and the Principal, Mary Keenley shall be a permanent advisor to the Executive Committee.

 

The Executive Committee shall be responsible for establishing a Board calendar, and for creating an Annual Report for the Board’s review and approval. The Executive Committee shall exercise all powers and authorities of the Board between Board meetings and shall report its actions to the Board at the Board’s next regular meeting.

 

The Board shall be composed of at least 12 members. Board members shall serve for three years. Initial terms may be staggered such that approximately one-quarter of the board positions will be vacated and replaced each year.

 

The 2024-25 St. Theresa School Board is composed of the following Board Members:

We have also created School Board committees, the members of which need not be School Board members, but each of which shall be Chaired by a School Board member. Each Committee member shall be approved by the Board and serve for a one-year term, which may be renewed by the Board, or until the Committee member's successor is appointed and qualified. In the event of a Committee vacancy, the Committee Chair shall make a recommendation to the Board for appointment by the Board. These are the Committees that have been created:
